Am I alone here? Or does anyone else continue to be absolutely amazed at our ability to be at one place in one moment in time and connect with people around the globe?!?! 🤯 Technology is so freaking cool 😎 My top 3 takeaways from this amazing day:1. You’ll never be 100% ready. If you have something important to say, set a date, hustle to prepare, and be bold. Connection over perfection. 2. Genuine passion and candor beat polish and pizzazz every time. Every TechSmithie presented differently and in their own voice - and it was unbelievably powerful. Nix the corporate voice and let your people share their true selves. 3. Keep the chat open. Yup, some people couldn’t get into our break out rooms. Some had lagging video feeds. Some had complaints. Most had great questions, new ideas, high praise - and even some good old fashioned humor. Open conversation from thousands of voices in a few short hours is an invaluable focus group. Open the chat and listen up. Bonus Takeaway: Take time to celebrate with your team… before, during and after. The thoughtful moments from coffee and cupcakes to high fives and fist bumps made this day one to remember 😍🥰♥️

Hey #LansingConnections,I am thrilled to share a fantastic live event happening in our community that I believe will transform the way we approach team communication in today's dynamic business landscape.Having kickstarted my career in a Fortune 500 giant, hustled through the challenging but rewarding journey of a small business, and now navigating the realms of a mid-size global company, one constant has always stood out - the pivotal role of efficient and effective team communication.Join Michelle Massey, Amy Casciotti and I at this live event (free registration link in the comments below), where we'll explore the transformative power of technology in revolutionizing team communication. Whether you're a small business, medium-sized enterprise, or part of a large corporation, this event is tailor-made for those ready to embrace change and propel their careers and businesses forward.Reflecting on my own journey, I've witnessed firsthand how embracing new communication technologies has been the linchpin for success. Just like the shift from traditional correspondence to email in the 80s, today's game-changer is video communication. Ignoring this shift can result in falling behind in today's competitive landscape. This event is designed for those who are ready to step out of their comfort zones, push their limits, and leverage the latest technology for effective communication. Regardless of your tech-savviness, you'll leave feeling empowered, equipped with practical knowledge that you can apply the very same day.Let's not get left behind – join me and others in this immersive event to revolutionize the way we communicate, connect, and ultimately, succeed. See you there! 🚀 #GreaterLansing #BusinessSuccess #CommunicationRevolution #LansingEvents

Ooh, nice! Sharing an insider tip on the best deal we're running for Camtasia right now... any maybe ever! Camtasia is the BEST way to make professional looking videos without ANY experience needed. It is so fun to take an idea and bring it to life with a little extra polish and sophistication over free tools that come with our devices and social platforms. If you want to level up your workplace communication, this is a great place (and deal) to get started.https://bit.ly/3HYxE4R

I love the “1% better” mindset because it favors ACTION. Get started, get better, and keep going. As I further in my career, I find myself needing to put myself in check more and more often. When something comes across my desk that isn’t exactly how I would do it based on my understanding of “best practices” (emphasis on those air quotes), I ask myself this question:Is it better than what we have today? Most times, the answer is emphatically yes because we’re starting something new in effort to drive a different outcome. More often than not, something is better than nothing. So I step aside and get it in market… then, 1% better every day. The second part of this that is hard is the “every day” part. Learning takes time. But we also often default to the “not enough time” excuse. My tendency is to err on the side of moving fast as soon as we hit the magic number of a statistically relevant sample size. This is true in marketing, product use… lots of things. I’d love to hear from this LinkedIn Community, especially those with a growth mindset, how long is long enough to give you confidence to start optimizing or changing what you put in market? When do you have enough to take action towards the next 1% better?Tagging my marketing friends who I’ve debated this with before 😉 will you weigh in?
