Guess what? The second season of Netflix's popular show, Wednesday, has started filming in Ireland. Unlike the first season which was mostly filmed in Romania, the production has switched things up by filming in Ireland this time.

The show has also added a bunch of new actors to its cast, including some big names like Steve Buscemi (you know him from The Big Lebowski), Billie Piper (she starred in Scoop), Evie Templeton (the lead in Return to Silent Hill), Owen Painter (who was in Tiny Beautiful Things), and Noah Taylor (you might remember him from Law & Order: Organized Crime). All of them will be series regulars, so we're going to see a lot of them in the upcoming season.

The show's first season is Netflix's biggest hit in English, with 252 million views and 20 weeks in the global Top 10. It got a dozen Emmy nominations, including one for Ortega as Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, making her just the third Latina to get a nod in a leading role. The show won four Emmys, but Ortega missed out to Quinta Brunson from Abbott Elementary on Emmy night.

This season, Jenna Ortega will step into an additional role as executive producer.

"I'm just so curious. I want to see the outfits, new characters that are coming in, scripts, and they were gracious enough to let me put the producer hat on," Ortega said.

One thing Ortega wasn't a fan of, was the Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan) and Xavier Thorpe (played by Percy Hynes White) love triangle that Wednesday got wrapped up in during season one, and she's since revealed that season 2 will be taking a different direction.

"I don't think I've ever had to put my foot down more on a set in a way that I had to on Wednesday,'" she said. "Everything that Wednesday does, everything I had to play, did not make sense for her character at all. Her being in a love triangle? It made no sense," she told Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast.

About season 2, she told Elle Fanning during Variety's Actors on Actors interview last year.

"We've had a lot of conversations and I think we've decided things that we definitely want to enhance or dive a little bit deeper in…

“We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great," she said. "We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more, because it is so lighthearted and I think a show like this, with vampires and werewolves and super powers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously."

Jenna Ortega spilled the beans about her love life in an interview with Elle for their “Impact Issue” last year. She said that the idea of being in a relationship freaks her out and that she's too much into her work. She also feels nervous about being so vulnerable with someone and getting to know them that well.

“My brain knows that I don’t need to think about that right now.”

She also noted she's not a fan of romantic-comedies.

“I hate being googoogaga over a boy,” Ortega said. “I think it’s secretly a pride thing. It’s a problem with a lot of female characters, that a lot of them are guy oriented or what they’re expressing or emoting is based on a guy’s position and a guy’s story.”

Ortega talked about her romantic life during an Armchair Expert podcast episode. When asked by host Dax Shepard, she explained that she doesn't find herself interested in dating much, possibly due to her low self-esteem. She also revealed that she isn't ready to be vulnerable or trusting with someone yet. Later, she discussed one of her past relationships and the reason for their breakup.

“I was in a relationship for a couple, but I stopped it when things got too hectic,” she said. “And it had nothing to do with them, it was just strictly…I just couldn’t manage all the things.”

While chatting, Ortega mentioned that she's been putting her work first and foremost. She said that it's something she needs to change and focus on other things too.

Shepard guessed that it's because Ortega's work for Wednesday is quite demanding that she wouldn't be able to meet the needs of a potential partner. Ortega agreed, saying it wouldn't be fair to someone else if she pursued a relationship while giving priority to her work.
